Johan Najera and Wyatt Evasic of Rosenbach Warrior Training Branch (RWTB) Blair competed April 6 during the Omaha National Martial Arts Championships at Millard West High School.
Najera earned a first-place medal in weapons with his half staff form, while also claiming a third-place finish in point sparring.
Evasic didn't medal, but RWTB Blair's Colette Stricklett said, “He did a great weapons performance with his nunchucks and missed by one point in point sparring.”
Both martial artists displayed skill and sportsmanship, she added.
RWTB's namesake, James Rosenbach, was titled with International Grandmaster of Taekwondo status during the event as well. Altogether, 22 of his organization's pre-registered students attended, which was the most among all schools.
“We are so proud of our students and their families for their commitments to being a part of our martial arts community,” Stricklett said.
The Blair branch is located at 1550 Washington Street, according to its Facebook page (facebook.com/rwtbblair/).
