Julie Ann Masters of Indianola, Iowa, was born in Omaha, Neb., on Sept. 2, 1963. She passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the University of Iowa Hospital on April 27, 2024.
Julie worked at Crouse Café for almost 30 years which she loved and enjoyed her customers. She was an avid Christmas cookie baker. She enjoyed going to the casino (especially when she was winning). Julie is survived by daughter Shianne Goering, sister Sue Nielsen (Rick), brother John Masters (Sally), significant other of 19 years Dan Vanderpool, son Russell (Rachel), Kolbie (Ashlyn), Dani and eight grandchildren she loved dearly (Izzy, RJ, Royce, Hendrix, Zeplin, Kruger, Velzy, Lane), along with many extended family and special friends Heidi Crouse, Abbie Crouse and Angie Niermann-Mitchell. She was preceded by death parents John and Joan Masters, and brother Bruce Masters.
A celebration of life will be May 25 at Rick and Sue Nielsen's house, 2006 Nebraska St., at 2 p.m.
