Blair boys soccer continues on-field work during summer months

The Blair High School boys soccer season concluded on the last day of April.
The summer months, however, have brought the Bears back together for The Ei8hts High School Summer League. Assistant coach Kadan English and his players met again Tuesday at the CHI Health MultiSport Complex in La Vista for tourney play.
Blair entered the league's eight-game schedule with two teams. The older team competed Tuesdays throughout June and July, while a younger squad played Thursdays.
English said Alex Just, Josh Jones and Gabe Flynn played key leadership roles during The Ei8hts competition. Their work was to win matches, but also to build chemistry and to improve on the pitch.
Entering tournament play, Blair's Tuesday team had a 3-5 record against competition with wins against Omaha Westview, Council Bluffs St. Alberts and Elkhorn Mount Michael.
The Thursday, younger Bears team, however, went 6-1-1 during league play. It beat rosters from Westview, Elkhorn North, Elkhorn South, Millard North, Omaha Gross and Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson.
