The Blair boys soccer team finished up a home match just before 9 p.m. Thursday before traveling to Lincoln on Friday for an 11 a.m. game.
The Bears first lost to Class B No. 10 Ralston, 5-1, at Krantz Field before a 6-0 Eastern Midlands Conference (EMC) win at Lincoln Northwest. Coach Curt Scott's team is 5-4 overall.
Against the 10th-ranked Rams (6-1 overall), Crayton Macholan scored his team's lone goal. The long free kick found the net and cut Ralston's advantage to 4-1.
The Rams built their lead with two goals during the first half. They first scored with just 5:57 left in the first half. The zipped past to Blair keeper Peter Clarke's left and into goal.
Ralston then added a penalty kick with just seconds left in the half.
BHS' deficit jumped to four goals in quick succession before Macholan's score with 25:16 left in the match. The Rams responded less than a minute later and held their 5-1 advantage until the final horn.
Less than 24 hours later, though, the Bears outscored the host Northwest Falcons (0-9) by six goals.
“Game went well,” Scott said. “Wind was a big factor.”
Sergio Dominguez, Alex Just, Ryan Gravedoni, Drew Wulf, Macholan and Quinn Baedke all scored Blair goals during their team's fifth win of the season. The Bears were then scheduled to play Norris on Monday during the first round of the EMC Tournament before today's 6 p.m. semifinals. Top-seeded Bennington would host BHS if Scott's team was able to beat the Titans.
