Friday Football Update: FCHS improves to 6-1 as Blair and Arlington fall

Washington County high school football teams went 1-2 Friday night.
The Class C1 No. 8 Fort Calhoun Pioneers improved to 6-1 with a 41-17 victory at Omaha Concordia, while both Blair and Arlington fell just short on the road.

No. 8 Fort Calhoun 41, Omaha Concordia 14: Kade Foy, Adam Elofson, Chase Premer, Levi Lasher and Blake Welchert scored touchdowns Friday as the Pioneers earned their sixth win of the season. Premer caught a touchdown pass from Elofson without any time remaining during the second quarter, giving FCHS a 20-3 halftime lead. Welchert later scored on an 87-yard run, while Lasher scored one of his two second-half touchdowns on a 54-yarder. The Pioneers next play Wahoo on Friday.

No. 3 Seward 20, Blair 13: The third-ranked Bluejays remained unbeaten, holding off the 2-4 Bears. BHS took a 13-7 lead when Aidan Slominski scored on a punt block, coach Bryan Soukup said. Brock Templar also scored a touchdown for BHS, but the Bluejays ultimately improved to 7-0. The Bears next compete Friday at Elkhorn.

Yutan 34, Arlington 24: The Eagles (2-5 overall) jumped out to a 16-0 lead, but the Chieftains outscored them from there, 34-8. Luke Sharp scored on the game’s first play — a toss pass by Cooper Staats — for AHS, while Killian McIntosh later registered a touchdown on a 66-yard run. Dallin Franzluebbers also scored on a 60-yard run in defeat. The Eagles next compete against Tekamah-Herman on Friday.
