Six Blair softball players were recently named All-Eastern Midlands Conference honorees.
Three Bears — Hannah Koch, Tessa Villotta and Nessa McMillen — were recognized as first-team performers, while three more — Hallie Lewis, Kalli Ulven and Leah Chance — earned honorable mention.
Koch, a senior outfielder, recently committed to the College of Saint Mary after notching 35 total hits with 10 doubles this fall.
Villotta, meanwhile, was a sophomore catcher who hit at a .446 average. Her 11 homers were first on the BHS team and second in school history.
McMillen, who is one of three Blair freshman to receive conference honors, hit .419 this fall with 12 doubles.
Lewis, a senior, had 10 doubles to go with her .402 batting average to claim honorable mention, while Chance scored 36 runs and had 10 stolen bases during her ninth-grade campaign. Ulven hit three homers, but was most influential as a freshman pitcher, notching 13 wins with a 2.99 ERA and 158 strikeouts.
The Bears reached the Class B district finals round last month under the direction of coach Jennifer Fangmeier. Seniors Julia Saylor, Ayden Dick and Carmen Warrick also earned EMC academic honors after the season.
