Blair Youth Shooting Sports (BYSS) teammates dominated Clay Target League State Tournament competition Saturday in Doniphan.
Blair High School topped the team total standings, shooting a 473 to second-place Kimball's 442. BYSS official DJ Zolck said about eight schools were represented and approximately 60 shooters took part in the event, which is still in its infancy.
Notably, Kalvin Kies of Blair topped the overall standings, finishing with a score of 98. BYSS' Triston Clausen was second with a 95, too, while Tregan Baker took third with the same score.
In the girls' standings, Blair's Jaydyn Backman was second with a 91 — a total even with champion Grace Anderson of Kimball — while Revlyn Rasmussen took third with a 79.
Riley Brodersen (fourth overall), Hayden White (10th), Gavin Baker (21st), Evan Brodersen (24th) and Rory Hiser (27th) of Blair also took part.
The top Junior Varsity male was Fort Calhoun's Eli Stamm, who finished with an 84 — a score four better than second-place Ryan Engel's total. Calhoun's Gabriel Vaughan was tied for 13th, too.
The Clay Target League state event capped a six-week league schedule of shoots, which Blair also won. Fort Calhoun marksmen took second in their division as well, Zolck said.
