Iantha Grey Wessel, age 80 of Blair, passed away October 9, 2024. Private services will be held.
Iantha Wessel was born in Centreville, Mississippi, to Harry Asa Adams and Iantha (Bemis) Adams on July 3, 1944. Her father was a career military officer and because of this Iantha moved often. After her infant years in Mississippi, she moved to Kyoto, Japan, and was there for three years, then returned to the United States living in Illinois and the San Francisco Bay area then finishing up her high school years in Livorno, Italy. Iantha returned to the U.S. in 1961 and attended the University of California at Berkeley, graduating in 1966 with a BSBA. She continued her postgrad work at the University of Santa Clara, receiving her MSBA.
After graduation, she worked as a profit analyst at Fairchild Semiconductor then moved on to various cost accounting and CFO positions with several Silicon Valley corporations. Iantha finished her career in business finance and inventory control software design firms.
Iantha loved playing bridge with her friends and belonged to several bridge groups. She also enjoyed traveling and camping in the family motorhome with her husband, Henry.
Iantha was preceded in death by her parents and brother Charles. She is survived by her husband Henry “Hank”; daughters: JoEllen (Gary) Firchow and Mitzi (Bill) Fiero; grandchildren: Laura (Paul) Santos and Kevin Firchow; great-grandchildren: Harper and Hadley Santos.
