The NSAA released its 2022 and 2023 high school football schedules Wednesday.
Blair, Arlington and Fort Calhoun will all face teams they either haven't played before or haven't faced recently. At the same time, however, the longstanding annual bout between the Eagles and Pioneers will be on an at least two-year hiatus.
Notably, the Bears will compete against Omaha Public Schools' yet-to-be-opened Buena Vista and Westview High Schools this fall. After their home opener against Plattsmouth, they'll travel to Buena Vista — located at 60th and L Streets — to play the Bison in the second week of the campaign.
Then, in week No. 8, BHS will compete on the Westview Wolverines' new field near 156th and Ida Streets as well.
Blair will also compete against Ralston, Omaha Gross, Elkhorn Mount Michael, Bennington, Elkhorn and Elkhorn North this fall before facing those teams, Westview and another new school, Lincoln Standing Bear, in 2023.
Fort Calhoun, meanwhile, starts its 2022 season on the road at Nebraska City and Oakland-Craig. It then competes against Wayne, Central City, Platteview, Ashland-Greenwood, Class C1 newcomer Omaha Roncalli, Omaha Concordia and Boys Town.
The Pioneers will then face the same squads in 2023, too.
Arlington's fall schedule starts with a home game against Raymond Central before familiar road trips to West Point-Beemer and Pierce. The Eagles then compete against Lincoln Christian, Columbus Scotus, Wahoo, Schuyler, Columbus Lakeview and Douglas County West.
Like Calhoun, AHS' 2023 schedule matches its 2022 slate.
