It was a three-day weekend, so I took almost all three days to pick these three Nannen Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week.
They are the noteworthy Emilee Thayer-Mencke, Brock Templar and Macy Wolf.

Emilee Thayer-Mencke, Fort Calhoun volleyball: The Pioneers opened the season with a tense, five-set thriller in Arlington and this sophomore is a big reason why coach Liz Sevcik’s team earned the win. She finished with a team-best 16 kills against the Eagles, providing big swings when FCHS needed them. Special mention to Kaiden Rodriguez, who really showed well carrying the ball in Cahoun’s football win at AHS. He also scored his squad’s first touchdown of the new season.

Brock Templar, Blair football: I had a feeling this Bear would have a big game against the first-year varsity football program from Lincoln Standing Bear and, boy, did he. BHS’ top back notched three first-half touchdowns, including two from 49 and 96 yards out. The Bears are 1-0. Special mention goes to Jacy Schueth of the softball team, who blasted three homers during Blair’s home tourney on Saturday. One, notably, was a grand slam.

Macy Wolf, Arlington volleyball: The Eagle notched 27 kills during her squad’s 2-1 tournament run in Plattsmouth on Saturday. So, in one day, the junior, essentially, helped her squad match last season’s win total. Special mention goes to Lilly Lang, who, according to GameChanger, notched five RBIs against Tekamah-Herman on Saturday during Arlington’s softball victory.

Congrats to these athletes and, as always, thanks so much for reading.
