Arlene Ehlers, 89 years of age, was born to Dr. Donald R and Clara Ehlers on August 18, 1935, in Walthill, Nebraska. On August 30, 2024, she went to be with her Savior, Christ Jesus. Burial was held in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Council Bluffs, Iowa. A memorial service was held at Mosaic in Beatrice, NE.
Arlene was baptized and confirmed at the Martin Luther Home Chapel in 1991. Arlene graduated from Blair Public Schools in 1955.
Throughout her life, Arlene was employed at several different places including: several restaurants including Valentino's, was a dental office assistant, worked at the United States Soil Conservation Office, the YMCA, and the Martin Luther Home and Mosaic kitchen.
In retirement Arlene enjoyed shopping, getting her hair styled and visiting with her hairdresser, dressing up and putting on a little red lipstick, sitting comfortably by her fireplace and watching Christmas movies and the Golden Girls, quilting/crafting/and conversation with the weekly quilters group, enjoyed coffee and a famous Sunrise Bakery long john and banana splits.
She is survived by nephews: Thomas Ehlers, Jr (Deb) in Cody, WY; Tobin (Julie) Ehlers in Omaha, NE; Tim (Lisa) Ehlers in Portland, OR; special friends: Angela Agena and Sue Orwen of Beatrice, NE; and a host of many friends including past and present employees at Mosaic in Beatrice.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Dr. Donald and Clara Ehlers; brother Donald Ehlers; brother Thomas Ehlers and wife Carolyn.
