Bears close out week with scavenger hunt

More than 30 runners closed out Blair High School's cross-country camp Friday with a scavenger hunt.
The athletes, wearing pink “Blair XC” shirts, ran around their hometown in teams, stopping to take photos with items — persons, places and things — on the hunt list.
During the three-day camp as a whole, though, coaches Carson Norine and Julia Warner led the Bears through warmups and runs in preparation for the upcoming fall season. They also brought in special guests to speak with the athletes, who will study in grades 6-12 next school year.
Triathlete and endurance sports specialist Lincoln Murdoch shared his knowledge with the team as did former BHS state medalist Alec Wick. Wick, who earned All-American honors at Doane University after his 2017 Blair graduation, spoke to the team Friday.
Blair's youth baseball camp was also last week. The school's tennis and volleyball camps were scheduled for Monday and today, too, before football and girls soccer in July.
