Brenda Kay Kahnk, age 62 of Blair, passed away October 14, 2024. A time of visitation with the family will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.
Brenda was born on December 2, 1961, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Bill and Joanie Rosenbaum. She was raised in the Kennard area and was very active in sports and 4-H during her youth. Brenda attended and graduated from Arlington High School as a member of the 1980 class. After high school she worked as a dental assistant for a short while and as a waitress at the Driftwood for many years.
In 1988 Brenda began her career with Great Plains in Blair. While working at Great Plains she attended the University of Nebraska Omaha and received her bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1997.
In January 2000 Brenda joined the Blair Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad making her the first female in the department. In 2012 Brenda earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from University of Nebraska Medical Center, and later her master’s in nursing from Nebraska Methodist College in 2018.
Brenda enjoyed quilting, golfing, playing softball and being an active member of her church. She especially enjoyed her time with her granddaughter Sadie.
Brenda is survived by her husband Patrick Kahnk; son Blake (Carina) Jenny; daughter Brooke Jenny; her mother Joanie Rosenbaum; stepchildren; Jessica (Andrew) Beauregard, Andrea (Paul) Rahn and Brandon (Astin) Kahnk; grandchildren Sadie, Simon, Caleb, Madeline, Amelia, Jonah and Jax; her siblings: brother Rick Rosenbaum and sister Roxanne Nielsen, along with her nieces and nephews.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father Bill Rosenbaum.
