The Blair Dawgs baseball team won the Cuming County Fair Tournament on Sunday, besting the host team during the championship finals.
The West Point Bombers town team beat North Bend and Scribner to reach the finals, but the Dawgs beat them, 5-0. Pitcher Tony Bilek earned the shutout victory.
Blair's Russ Nelsen said “just about everybody” contributed at the plate during the Dawgs' tourney run, too.
To reach the finals, the Dawgs first beat Dodge 5-1 on Friday. Roy Robles picked up the pitching win.
Then, during Saturday's semifinals, Blair bested Wahoo 7-1. It was Jessie Lindahl who claimed victory on the mound.
The Dawgs' Sunday night game in Omaha Adult Baseball League play, however, did not end in the Blair team's favor. The Athletics won it at Vets Field, 13-1, according to oabl.org.
The Dawgs next host the Braves on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
