Sidney Kay Penke, age 80 of Blair, passed away July 23, 2024, at Oakland Heights in Oakland, Nebraska. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Blair Cemetery.
Sidney was born September 22, 1943, in Blair, Nebraska, the daughter of Hugh and Mary (Hovendick) Sutherland. Sidney served as the Washington County Assessor for nearly two decades.
She was survived by her husband Herman, sons Russell Penke and Reese Penke, granddaughters Shay Penke and her significant other Edward Gartenmayer, Raquell Penke and her fiancé Cale Caskey, and Phoenixx Penke and great grandson Edward Jr., and sisters Verna Kuhr, Alice Ricker, Marilyn Bassett.
Sidney was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Phyllis and Vivian.
