Steven J. Tucker passed away peacefully in his home in Fairbury on Aug. 6, 2024, after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born to Ethel and Tim Tucker on March 6, 1948, in Omaha, NE. He graduated from Herman High School in 1966, and Nebraska Barber College in 1974.Steven J. Steven loved sports — basketball, baseball and golf — and was a coach for the Little League in Blair, NE. He was also a huge fan of the Creighton Bluejays.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie Lee; daughters Robin Tucker, Kelly and husband Chris Wulf; Grandchildren Camden, Kate & Drew, Wulf and Donna Tucker; brother Mike Tucker; nieces, nephews; Paula Kelley and family; Kenny Schutt and family; Deb Stevens and family, and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Tim Tucker; Stepfather Paul Gray, brother Tim Tucker, sisters Patricia Hansen, Marilyn Longo and Beverly Kubie; Grandparents David and Huramah West, and Harry and Edna Tucker.

Steven’s favorite songs were “Scars in Heaven” by Casting Crowns, and “God Will Take Care of You” by Heritage Singers. His favorite bible verse was John 3:16.

The burial will be in Herman Nebraska Cemetery. No funeral is scheduled per his wishes. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. www.gerdesmeyerfh.com
