Ruth Ann McCormick, age 87 of Blair, passed away at her home August 30, 2024. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Visitation with family will be held prior to services beginning at 10 a.m.
Ruth Ann McCormick was born June 6, 1937, in Mitchell, South Dakota, to Dale and Lola Whittecar. Ruth loved telling stories about her and Faye riding horseback to the rural country school they attended. After the death of her first husband, Arnie Goepfert, Ruth Ann married Dennis McCormick on September 1, 1961.
Ruth was a beautiful seamstress, enjoyed cross stitching, playing scrabble — and don’t take her books away! If you needed a travel companion or co-pilot, that would be Ruth.
Ruth’s memories remain with her husband Dennis; son Dean and wife Tracy; grandchildren: Molly and Rueben Ross, Sean and Sam McCormick, Dakota and Shayne Kelly, Dylan McCormick, Jen and Brandon Flynn and John and Amber Goepfert. Great grandchildren: Madyson and Kylie Ross, Bailey and Max McCormick, and baby boy Kelly due early October, Jaxson and Logan Goepfert; sisters: Judy Webb, Mag and Dennis Hall, Nancy and Dick Smith, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, including great neighbors Cathy, Bud and Joyce.
Awaiting Ruth at the realms of heaven were her parents, grandparents, brothers: Tom, Bill and Doug, sisters: Faye and Barb, Ruth’s children Brad, Shawn, Brent, Lucie and Arnette.
